Re: lun input/output error

SSH to the ESXi hosts and have a look at the temp.vmdk file, you need to do this from a SSH session and not through the vSphere client.  What is listed under the Extent description section, does the...

Re: lun input/output error

Looks like the two disks on this VM are pointing to the same -flat.vmdk file.  This will be the cause of the I/O error as the first disk will open the -flat.vmdk file and lock it so when the second...

Re: lun input/output error

We checked this at the beginning. The icg4aida-flat.vmdk is opened only from the temp.vmdk file. The first disk of the VM is on a completely different LUN. Also there's the problem that we can't see...

Re: lun input/output error

Yes, icg4aida.vmdk and temp.vmdk are pointing to the same flat disk since they have the same content. As i wrote in my other post, i recreated the temp.vmdk file. We got the input/output error with the...

Perform V2V conversion such that after the sync is complete, the old VM powers off and the new one powers on.

Re: lun input/output error

I think I am confused here.. Run the command from the host whre the VM is registered. You don't need to power down the VM.

Result from the command is: scsi0:0.fileName = "icg4aida.vmdk" It only shows one disk because we deleted the second disk from the configuration file. Otherwise the VM won't start. To make things...
