I also know this error with a single server in a cluster where all hosts and switch ports are absolutely identical. In the end, the only thing that helped was removing the host from the dvSwitch and move it out of the cluster and then reconnected it. After that the error was gone and all health checks were green again.

Re: UCS C220 and C210 firmware/driver question
Hi,
From your comments, I can understand that you are using UCS-C Standalone server. (Not integrated with UCS Manager)
Upgrading the firmware and drivers on ESXi Host will be separate tasks.
When you will run HUU on the UCS C-Server, it will take cares upgrading all the hardware components. (CIMC included)
Once Hardware is upgraded, you can proceed with updating the ESXi drivers.
Here are couple of links which you can check prior upgrading.
Below is Cisco Technote which gives instructions n how to upgrade drivers and firmware on Cisco UCS Servers.

Port Groups & VLANS
I have several Esxi 6.0 hosts that have several servers on each. I wanting to use a web client, not vsphere client, to access them. Ultimately what I need to do is be able to create a Port Group with 4 vnics so I can use vlan tags. Is this do able without having vCenter?
Re: windows 10 1809 slow
Is this on VMFS 5 or 6 datastores?
Re: windows 10 1809 slow
VMFS 5 datastores (using Pure storage)
Re: Is there still a free version of ESXI that is not just a trial for 60 Days?
For me it not working .

There was short maintenance break and now it working .
Re: esxi 6.7.0 intall windows server 2016 login problem
Thanks,Update to 6.7.0 Update 1 (Build 13004448) ,This problem has been solved.
Re: Host reboot and IP addresses are lost
hi serveradministrator,
Which firmware level are you advising ? My DL 360 is on the latest.
It is just a bug on NCM. Can you advise further on your finding ?
Thank you
Re: Port Groups & VLANS
Hello,
Yes, doable.
But with vCenter and Distributed Switches it is more simple to manage and configure multiple servers.
Without vCenter in your case, for each hosts/server you have to create standard switch with all port groups needed and configure these port groups.
Nakivo Backup on separate (direct) lan connection
Hello everyone,
I would like ask you for an advise.
This is only about my home lab, so just simple one esxi host without vcenter.
I am also using Nakivo as backup solution for my lab thats running on QNAP.
So far they were both on same subnet running without issues.
This week I added a 10GB connection to both devices and have just direct cable connection between them.
From esxi and VMs on top of it I can reach the QNAP without problem (NFS, SMB, SSH).
Also from QNAP itself I can SSH to the ESXi host.
All this using the 10GB connection.
But when I add this host with a new IP to Nakivo It all behaves very weird.
I know Nakivo is using ports 902 and 443, but nothing is being blocked on esxi side.
The only message I receive in hostd logs on esxi is
Accepted password for user nakivo from 192.168.168.5

I am sure there is no blocking, network is setup correctly.
The thing I am not sure about is how in general esxi works with 2 management interfaces.
I would be very glad if you have any suggestions.

esxi host is not responding
Hi all
we have an strange problem,
in VCSA 6 , many of our esxi 6 hosts which have valid IP addresses become "not responding" and after disconnect and reconnect, we get the error say: "request time out"
I tried most of solutions like, restaring esxi host or restaring vcsa, regenerating ssl certificare on host, checking 902 and 443 ports on both sides (either host or vcenter) they are open and can also both sides can ping each other. (even disabling firewall totally on host). but didn't resolved. there are only 2 points, when we change IP address of the esxi host with another ip in same subnet, it will add successfully to vcenter but after a few days it became like the previous IP and not responding, same problem... and the second point is when we try to add the problematic host to a secondary vcsa, it will add without problem. my doubt is that main problem should exist on our main VCSA and if some logs are causing problem which ones are safe to delete on vcsa? or anyone can kindly help us with this issue? thanks in advandce
Re: Port Groups & VLANS
yes you can create a single portgroup with four nics, but remember that this will not give you a 4GbE or 40GbE connection (dependent on your uplink connection) to your upstream switch, but rather 4 times whatever link speed, that means more machines can utilze the bandwidth, giving the impression of a larger pipe, but a single VM can never utilize more than the full speed of a single uplink.
Re: esxi host is not responding
Hi,
Welcome to VMTN. :-)
I don't think logs on primary VCSA could be causing this. Still, make sure all VCSA partitions have sufficient free space by running this command: df -h
Need information on below before I further suggest anything.
Q1: Are both VCSA in same subnet/VLAN or different VLAN ?
Re: esxi host is not responding
Re: esxi host is not responding
Can you give us the IP segment of Primary VCSA, secondary VCSA and ESXi hosts ?
What is the version of ESXi and VCSA , provide the build number
When the host is in not responding state in VC, have you tried accessing the hostclient https://<ESXi IP of FQDN> from browser, how the host responds that time.
Did you check the vpxd log and hostd log to see why the host goes to unresponsive state ?
vpxd log is located in the vCenter appliance and hostd log located in ESXi, these logs can give us some hint why the host is not responding to VC.
Re: Port Groups & VLANS
Thanks for the reply, that is how I expected it to work. My core switch team was the ones that suggested doing this but they didn't know how to do it, and neither do I. What is the easiest way to do this with the client.
Re: Intel X710 nic woes
Guys,
hi there, just stumbled across this, resolution is crazy ;-) don't use vmk0. check this out Where did my host go.... - Virtual Ramblings
This is still valid as per April 2019, even with latest firmware on the x710 and latest driver on ESXi. Yay ;-)
Create a new vKernel, assign management role to it, give it a dummy ip, connect to that ip manually via browser, remove old vmk0 management, change dummy ip to original ip. Boom. No more network chaos. I can't believe this but that solved a huge headache we had for quite a time. All the workarounds with TSO and so on - all not necessary when just not using vmk0.
Best regards
Joerg
simultaneous unmap sessions limit
is there a limit or recommendation on how many simulataneous unmap commands I can run per datastore simultaneously on a single host?
I got over 100 luns attached to a cluster and I want to run unmap on all the luns simultaneously
