What build number of 6.0 are you currently running? I've run into issues before where storage disappears from a host when running ESXi 6.0 GA.

Analysis:
These events resemble an ongoing PR with the engineering team, where the issue appears to be with lsi_mr3 low memory allocation failure. I do see that the server is installed with the lsi_mr3 driver version 6.910.18.00-1vmw. In case if this PSOD keeps happening at frequent intervals, then we would request you to update the latest lsi_mr3 drivers which is available from the below URL and its corresponding compatible firmware version (25.5.2.0001):

Re: Reclaim space from ESXI local datastore.
Hi ,
Space reclaim will happen if you remove any files and ran commands . But for a esxi virtual machine ( nested environment ) , i am not sure .
But for other OS you may try below , also since its vm you can try .
Re: Large esxi cluster
Hi ,
Migrate vms from hosts to another , remove esxi host from cluster
Create new cluster add the servers enable EVC . There should not be any vm in running state .
migrate the vms to new cluster (shared storage required ) , or do migration in power off state with out shared storage
if you have down time just power off vms remove from existing cluster
create new cluster , add esxi hosts and enable evc, power on vms

Problem with vSphere ESXi 6.5 and 3Ware 9690sa-4i
Hey,
just installed vSphere ESXi 6.5 and i got a 3Ware 9690sa-4i installed with 4 SATA which are in an RAID5. I can also see the card in the hardware tab of the Internet Management window. But i can't find the hardrive in the menu.
Maybe anyone got a tip for me how i can see the drives of the SAS cards?

Restart Windows 2008 R2 Virtual system
Is it possible to restart the virtual system from within the O/S by running shutdown -r -t 0 or is it better to issue the restart command from within vSphere client?
Re: Restart Windows 2008 R2 Virtual system
Welcome to the Community,
either way will work. I'm often using the shutdown command from within the guest OS for scheduled reboots of e.g. Citrix XenApp servers.

Re: Vmware Tools defect since Version 10.x.x with server 2012R2 msg.snapshot.error-QUIESCINGERROR
Hello,
I will try to test it this weekend. But is rather a pain to get the vm back to working tools.
At the Moment now, one Month after my last post, not a single error Message. "msg.snapshot.error-QUIESCINGERROR“ with vmtools 9.10.5.
One think i also noticed with the latest Tools 10.1.10 :
When login after reboot via RDP the first time, vmtools are not displayed in task bar. I tested all the reg repairs regarding this.
When I login via Vcenter Console, the Vmtools are visable, and also after that via RDP.
Re: Restart Windows 2008 R2 Virtual system
It depend on condition , mostly we restart guest from command , if vm is hung then only option from vc-client or from esxi host
Installing Storage api
How do install the Storage api? From what I've read they should be included in your licensed copy of vSphere. Or is it a separate license and install?
Re: Installing Storage api
Hi Michael.
Storage APIs (For data protection -backup etc) are already installed for you as long as you are licensed with anytiung from Essentials to Enterprise Plus. There is nothing to do here.
Your backup software will automatically integrate with the API for it's tasks
Hope this helps,
Graham
How to replicate to another place
Hi,
We have a vmware on couple of servers. We have vcenter installed and all the 20 virtual machines are running. We are using 6.0. We want to replicate the vmware servers to another place. I really am clueless how to do it. Anyone that can tell me how to do it. Yes I have the ova installed of the vmware replication. When I rightclick the VM, I have the option to replicate. But how to make the connection to the other side?
Thank you.
Re: Cannot add network adapter to ESXi 6.5 VM?
I couldn't agree more. I'm did a clean install of 6.50d, and can't create even a single VM due to this issue. I'm going back to 5.5 or 6 at this point. Are you aware that you cannot upload folders from the file system? Absolutely ridiculous. Nor can you download folders. So if you want to copy a VM to your local drive, you have to do it one file at a time.
AVOID 6.5
Re: How to replicate to another place
are you trying to replicate on same site or different site
when you start replicate it will ask which disk you want to replicate.
There are lot of video on this check and try

global vSphere swap dir configuration
Hello,
I'm using vSphere Hypervisor free edition (HPE custom image). I have a RAID-6 storage volume consisting of 4 WD RE harddisks. Due to loud access sounds of these 4 WD RE when running a VM even in idle mode I decided to add another WD RED harddisk with 5400 rpm for swap.
I setup the vSphere host under Manage>System>Swap
Enable = yes
Datastore = located to the 5400 rpm WD RED harddisk
Host cache = yes
Local swap = yes
and under Manage/System/Advanced settings
ScratchConfig.ConfiguredScratchLocation = located to the 5400rpm WD RED harddisk
After reboot the vSphere host swap works as expected.
Except the VMs do not use the 5400 rpm WD RED harddisk for swap. I cross checked each VM uses Swap file location = Datastore specified by host under VM settings>VM Options>Advanced but not until I add the sched.swap.dir attribute as a Configuration attribute a VM uses the 5400 rpm WD RED harddisk.
Why does global swap location not work?
