Hi
you will not like my answer - but if you dont want to lose the data of your VMs I highly recommend to regard your RAID as unrepairable and try to extract the data as long as you can.
In the last few years one of the most frequent reasons that customers asked for my services was a failed rebuild of a Raid 5.
If you can access the datastore at the moment power down all VMs and copy them out.
If that still works consider yourself lucky. Then get new drives and create a new array and if possible avoid to use Raid 5.
Do not reboot or add drives st the moment - both actions may end in a desaster.
If you dont want to listen - do yourself a favour and immediatly create a dump of the first 1500 MB of the array  and store it away on a different host.
This will be a big help if the array becomes unreadable - which is what I expect to happen pretty soon.
