Still learning about vmware..... I had to build another vm server since the original one quit working (Bad drives). I have installed VMware ESXi 4.1.0, 260247 on a Dell PE2850 servers which has dual NICs. I configured the IP for vmk0 and I can access using vSphere Client.
On the Guest OS vmnic0 ip statically set to an IP on Vlan24 and able to connect via RDP. vmnic1 is statically set to an IP on VLan10 but can not ping the IP. but shows vmnic is in standby?
I had our network engineer to check the router / switch configs stating configs are fine but did not see the nic mac address in the arp table which believes to be an issue with your setup.
I followed the directions on Re: Assigning Different IPs to NICs in ESXi 5.1.0 to create vSwitch1 and no connection on the both NICs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
