SSH login not responding/keyboard not responsive.

Hi this is my first post here- I had a quick look for similar issues but none immediately apparent, so bear with me or point me to the appropriate resource if you could.

I have two exsi hosts in a cluster. they are running 4.0 (Kandinsky) one on one I can SSH to it without issue. The other reports invalid password with the root account even though I know for sure its right.

If I go onto the box itself, and have a look on the screen with a monitor/keyboard/mouse rather than through the console it reports the following: exs1 login: node ISOLATED from network. Either repair network or override agent startup using option -noiso Node no longer ISOLATED, will restart.

So obviously I guess I have more than one issue, as none of the ALT-F11 for example commands work.

When I look at the cluster and the individual hosts though the vsphere client application everything looks just dandy; What made me dig deeper was that I had a non bootable VM as a result of a user modding the registry that I was going to perform an in place backup with using veeam. This operation requires the root user and password to be issued, and when this was rejected I dug deeper and the above issues were revealed.

So, where do I start? Other than that it all looks like things are working just fine on the surface ;-)

Thanks in advance

Graham
