Re: Advice needed on disabling synchronous consolidation

Thanks Rajiv for reverting back to me with a great explanation.

From what I understand:

+Setting "snapshot.asyncConsolidate.forceSync" to FALSE only prevents the VM from being stunned/paused

+ Setting snapshot.asyncConsolidate.forceSync="FALSE"  and after 10 asynchronous consolidate if the consolidate is not successfull, the VM will continue to run on the snapshots.

Please advise if I understood correctly.

I can see the snapshot.asyncConsolidate.forceSync="FALSE"  setting is more dangerous because it will try to consolidate until it gives up and no longer attempts any consolidation.
