I am having the same issue, the linked version of the client after installing the recent update is just a dead link. So far I have had two emails with support, both of them they haven't understood the issue. I run the free version of ESXi server and first they told me I wasn't licensed to download vSphere. After explaining myself again, I was directed to the Update 3 build of the client.
This isn't the first time this has happened either apparently, see this thread.
Hopefully someone will see this thread and correct the issue, just like what happened in that thread. Until then, I think we are stuck.
